Samsung Galaxy A51 design
The design of the Samsung Galaxy A51 is quite similar to the Galaxy A50S. Its body is made of polycarbonate and weighs just 172g. Along with this, the phone also seems quite thin. Its thickness is just 7.9 mm. The fingerprints on its shiny back are easily printed. However, these marks are not much visible on the prism black color variants present near Hamre. The finish of the back panel is a bit slippery, but thankfully Samsung offers a case cover in the box of this phone for free.
The biggest change in the Galaxy A51 compared to the Galaxy A50s is the Infinity-O display, which we are seeing for the first time on Galaxy A-series phones. Samsung has named the Whole-Punch display as Infiniti-O. Like this hole-punch Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, this phone is given in the middle of the upper part of the display. Samsung may not have changed the design of the body of the phone very much, but having a hole-punch display gives this phone a premium look, which we appreciate. The Samsung Galaxy A51 uses a Super AMOLED panel with full-HD + resolution, which gives punchy colors and good sharpness. Due to the thin bezel all around, its display looks great from the front.
Buttons have also been fitted well in the Samsung Galaxy A51. It has a card tray on the right side, in which two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card can be fitted. The 3.5mm headphone socket, USB Type-C port, and speaker grill are given at the bottom. The rear of the Galaxy A51 has four cameras setup. The good thing is that its camera bump is not very bulge.
In addition to the phone in the box of Samsung A51, a 15-watt fast charger, a Type-C cable, a headset, a SIM tray eject pin, and a cover are available.

Samsung Galaxy A51 specifications and software
In Samsung Galaxy A51, the company has given the Exynos 9611 processor included in the current Samsung A50S, which is 2020, and at this price, makes the phone feel a little weak. The Samsung Galaxy A51 is launched with 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM options. Both variants have 128 GB internal storage. Apart from this, the phone includes dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 AC, Bluetooth 5, GPS, NFC, and FM radio, etc. All the common sensors are present in this phone. The Samsung A51 also has WideWin L1 certification. This phone supports Samsung Pay, so you can also use it for contactless payment.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. This new version is the same as the previous version of One UI, which we have used before. However, the company has made some changes to make it better for the user experience. Instead of sending in themes, it now allows the UI user to change the wallpaper directly from the dedicated menu.

Samsung Galaxy A51 performance and battery life
The Samsung A51 feels largely similar to the Samsung A50 in day-to-day use. We liked its slimness and light form factor. Its interface is fast to navigate, but it does not give a smooth feel. Sometimes we have also seen a lag in its system animations. Its benchmark performance also does not affect much by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 665 chipsets. Overall, it is slightly lower according to the price of this phone.
Biometric authentication works well but is a bit slow. Its in-display fingerprint sensor takes a little time to authenticate fingerprint and unlock the phone, and some similar face unlock feature is also available.
The Galaxy A 51 comes with Dolby Atmos support, but this feature only works when you use headphones. The audio quality of the earphones that comes with it gives an average feel. However, this phone offers better audio with some high-grade earphones available in the market. The output of the speaker below is not much, but enough for listening alone. One of the best parts of this phone is its display. The brightness of the display is quite good and the colors look good in it. Because of this, there is a good experience of watching videos on the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a battery of 4,000 mAh capacity. This battery lasted 14 hours and 55 minutes in our HD video loop test. On regular use, this phone ran smoothly throughout the day and with the end of the day, it had a battery lasting for half a day. Fast charging support has been provided on this phone. Upon examining us, we found that the phone charger can charge it up to 67 percent in one hour. It takes more than two hours to fully charge. Although it is fast, it is slightly slower than other phones in the segment. For example, the Redmi K20 Pro charges up to 80 percent in one hour.

Samsung has added an additional 5-megapixel macro sensor to the new Samsung Galaxy A51 phone compared to the triple camera setup included in the Galaxy A50s. The other three cameras include a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
The camera app in One UI 2.0 has also been slightly improved compared to earlier. Most shooting modes are now stored together in the "MORE" menu. The good thing is that you can add them to the main viewfinder interface as per your mind.
Its main camera captures photos by default in 12-megapixel resolution, but you can also take pictures at a full 48-megapixel resolution. This option is given in the Aspect Ratio setting. In good light conditions, the Samsung Galaxy A51 camera captures a good detail picture of the subject in the center of the frame, but the subjects in the edges usually look a bit blurry and soft.
In low light, the main camera took pictures with good colors. Photos come with plenty of detail and noises (dots) are seen in them. It also has a dedicated night mode, but we did not see much difference between photos taken with this mode and photos taken in standard mode, because in low light the app's scene optimizer can change the camera setting to low light Live-focus mode blurs the background of photos. The quality of the pictures is good and its depth sensor also performs well to smudge the edges. Users can set the blur according to it.
It also has good pictures taken nearby. The camera can focus fast in a good light. Subjects can be drawn very close to the macro camera. Colors are good in macro shots and there is plenty of detail in photos.
Video can be made up to 4K resolution in Galaxy A51, but this does not include stabilization. Video is good in good light, but in low light, the video gets a lot of grain. If you make a video in 1080 pixels, you will get a stable video, but the video shows a twinkling in the video. This shimmer is increased in low light. You can use the 'Super-Steady' feature in this camera app, which uses a wide-angle lens for video recording. In this, the video becomes stable, but the detail becomes quite bad.
The 32-megapixel camera on the front takes photos at 12-megapixel or 8-megapixel resolution by default. The selfie does not come clean many times in it. The camera softens the tone of the skin. Many times this softness increases so much that the selfie is blurred. The detail is good in low light, but there is a lack of sharpness.
Other camera modes include Pro, Panorama, Food, Hyper laps, Super Slow-Mo, and Slow Motion modes, which have also been seen in earlier Samsung phones. Bixby Vision and AR emoji can also be accessed through the camera app. The Samsung Galaxy A51 also includes AR Doodle, which we have seen earlier in the Samsung Galaxy S10 series.

Verdict
Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy A51 at a slightly higher price than the launch price of the Galaxy A50s. In lieu of this additional price, the company has given you a fourth rear camera, a more modern looking hole-punch display, and more RAM. At present, Samsung has launched only 6 GB variant of this phone in India, which costs Rs 23,999. The 8 GB RAM option is listed on the company's website, but it is not yet available for purchase.
Power users will immediately argue that the Redmi K20 Pro with the same RAM and storage options at a price of only Rs 1,000 more than the Galaxy A51 will give better performance and to a large extent, they will not be wrong either. In Redmi K20 Pro, you get a flagship-grade processor, HDR display, more premium build quality, and better camera setup. If you will be gaming a lot, then yes, Redmi K20 Pro will be a better option for you. Even in a small amount of money, you can also get the Redmi K20, which is a capable mobile phone.
However, there are some options in the Samsung Galaxy A51, which some users may like a lot. Despite the high price, this phone will be liked by users seeking a simple and smooth experience. In this, you get the experience of Android 10. Along with this, the phone gets a slim and light body, Samsung Pay, good battery life, excellent display, and of course the confidence of the Samsung brand. We would have liked to include a more powerful processor at this price. Apart from this, its slow biometric sensor and average camera performance also give the phone a step up.
