Samsung Galaxy A30s Review Features Performance || Samsung India || My Support Tech

Samsung Galaxy A30s Monster 6000 mAh Battery And 48MP Sony Camera Sensor

Samsung's flagship smartphones have been popular among those with the ability to buy them. But the company has not been as aggressive in the budget segment for the last few years. The situation has changed this year. In the last few days, Samsung has completely changed its strategy and launched smartphones in the Indian market at a price of around 10 to 20 thousand rupees, in which smartphones are seen under the M-series and A-series.

It is clear that the company is offering a better option to reduce Chinese popularity in this segment. A-series smartphones come with a slightly premium look that also offers an attractive AMOLED display. The flagship-grade One UI can be said here as something special which is seen only in the A series after the S-series. Among all these A-Series phones, the Samsung Galaxy A30s can be said to be the most affordable. It is considered an upgrade version of the Samsung Galaxy A30. Let's see if Samsung A30s will entice customers in terms of look, features, and price.

Samsung Galaxy A30 design

Talking about the design, the Samsung Galaxy A30s looks like the Samsung A30 ahead, the Samsung A30s is a big phone. Samsung has given a 6.4-inch display on the front panel of the Galaxy A30s which comes with a thin border. The lower border is slightly wider. But it does not prick the eyes. The Samsung A30s has a full-HD + Infinity U display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy M30. Colors come to Vivid due to the Super AMOLED panel. Text and images come to fruition. The company did not mention Gorilla Glass or any other glass protection. However, during the review, there were no scratches on the screen of this phone.

Glossy side and back panels look good but fingerprints fall easily on them. The phone is quite slim. It does not hurt to grip it. The button on the right is given glossy treatment with the rest of the edges. The SIM tray has space for two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card (up to 512 GB). There is space below for the speaker, 3.5mm headphone socket and USB Type-C port.

Now talk about the backside which makes a difference between Samsung Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A30. The Galaxy A30s comes with a 48MP Triple Camera Setup. The rear part may look glass, but it is plastic. In general use, it does not easily scratch marks. The fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone is more upward than our liking. To reach this, we had to stretch our fingers a few times. But the sensor works fast. There is also an option of Face Unlock on the phone, but sometimes it does not work fast even when there is enough light. This device will also not get your raise-to-wake gesture, which means you have to turn on the display by double-tapping.

In the retail box, apart from the phone, you will find SIM eject tool, power adapter with adaptive fast charging, USB Type-C cable, and headset. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A30s is a great phone that looks good despite being made of plastic. It will be available in multiple colors but we have a black version available. Which looks more gray than black.

Samsung Galaxy A30 specification and performance

Like the Galaxy M30, the Samsung Galaxy A30s has an Exynos 9611 (10nm) chipset and octa-core (4x2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 and 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) processor in the phone. Its GPU is Mali-G72 MP3. It has a game booster for gaming. That is, the user experience will be better during high graphics games. That too with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variants.

The good thing is that the phone does not get very hot. It only heats up when the phone's CPU and GPU are heavily used, such as when playing PUBG Mobile. This phone does not overheat even after shooting a lot of pictures and videos.

While playing games and watching videos on YouTube, the sound coming from the speaker is not very loud. Notification LED is not provided on the phone, but if you wish, you can enable Always-on display for viewing time and notifications.

In the video loop test, the battery lasted for 15 hours and 8 minutes, which is much better than average. In common use, it will easily support one day. The fast charger that comes with the phone charges up to 70 percent of the phone's battery in an hour

Samsung has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, gyroscope, hall sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, compass, GPS, FM radio, and USB-OTG on the phone.

The phone has Android's latest 9.0 Pie operating system. Android 10 will also be the latest OS of Android on this phone.

The second best part of the phone is the battery and charger of this phone. It has a 6000mAh battery and a 15W USB Type C fast charger. It is also the most powerful battery of any Samsung phone. The phone's battery is enough for a day's activity.

Samsung Galaxy A30s Camera

The best part of this phone is the camera. Samsung has given it a triple rear camera, which comes with a combination of 25MP Main camera(f / 1.7), 8MP Ultra-wide camera and 5MP Depth Camera(f / 2.2). A similar camera setup is given in the Galaxy M50s.

In the camera app, you will find a scene optimizer, this feature was first seen in Samsung Galaxy S10 +. This feature automatically identifies the object and adjusts the exposure.

The camera app has Panorama, Pro, and Live Focus modes. With the help of live focus mode, you can adjust the background blur level before and after clicking the picture. Edge detection is good. However, when shooting in live focus mode in low light, the photos become patchy and there is also a lack of detail.

It has a 16MP wide lens (f / 2.0) for a selfie. Which comes with HDR feature. Can record full HD video from the front camera. It works correctly in daylight. Selfies are little soft captures to our liking. But colors are good and HDR also works well when shooting against the light. There is also a live focus here. But edge detection is weak. In low light, selfies are lacking in detail and the grains are clearly visible.

Our decision

In addition to better battery life, AMOLED display and build quality, Samsung Galaxy A30s, and Samsung Galaxy A30 are similar. But its 48MP sensor camera makes it completely different and better than the Samsung Galaxy A30. its camera performance is better and it comes with a bigger battery, more RAM, and storage. That too with the old Android OS. If you want, you can buy 4 GB / 64 GB variants of Galaxy M30 for Rs 2,000 cheaply.

Considering the price, the Galaxy A30s processor does not seem to challenge the Oppo K1 and Redmi Note 7 Pro from anywhere which gives better app and gaming performance. Galaxy A30s cameras do not disappoint. Cameras take pictures of average quality even inadequate light and have average output in low light.

This phone has been launched in two variants. The price of the 4GB + 64GB variant is Rs. 13,999 and 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 16,999. That is, looking at the features and price, it looks better than other smartphones in its segment. The rear camera, battery, and display are better on the phone. It has new camera features. That is, looking at the price and features, it can become the best option.
