Samsung Galaxy A70s 64MP Camera Snapdragon 675 With 4500 mAh Battery
Samsung has launched its Galaxy A series latest smartphone Samsung Galaxy A70s in the Indian market. The Samsung Galaxy A70s is the company's first smartphone to come with a 64 megapixel camera and has been launched in the Indian market for the first time. This phone has Waterdrop Notch, which Samsung has named Infinity U Display. Other features of the Galaxy A70S include the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, 32-megapixel selfie camera, 4,500 mAh battery, and in-display fingerprint sensor. Many specifications of the Samsung A70S match the Galaxy A70.Samsung Galaxy A70s Review - Price, Features, Specs & Performance || Samsung India || My Support Tech || |
Samsung Galaxy A70s Design
The users will be the most concerned about the Samsung Galaxy A70s first. With a 6.7-inch display, it is much larger than the A50s. Only the humble ASUS ROG Phone 2A70 will give some inferiority complex. In terms of design, the A70s resemble an enhanced version of the A50 / A50s. When both these handsets are kept side-by-side, then you only know how big the A70s is.
Being a large device, even those with large palms will have to stretch a bit to use the A70s. The larger AMOLED panel with a U-shaped notch dominates the front fascia. At the rear, the phone has a triple camera setup in addition to an LED flash. The power button and volume rocker are located on the right side while the SIM tray can be accessed from the left side. The USB Type-C port, 3.5mm port, speaker grill, and primary microphone are located at the bottom of the phone. The top of the phone is blank, save for small secondary noise-canceling microphones. Overall, the Samsung A70s feels a premium. However, it is not the only phone - especially in its price range - to offer it.
The Galaxy A70s is a fairly large device. While it has grown in size to the A50s, the resolution on this display at 1080 x 2340 pixels is similar to the former, which essentially means you're looking at a less sharp display.
Samsung Galaxy A70s Performance And Specification
Samsung Galaxy A70s tried Samsung and ran a UI with Android 9.1 core. Many of the issues caused by the large display have been mitigated somewhat by OneUI - which, as you know - is optimized for one-handed use. For example, the drop-down menu options are easily accessible when you try to change quick settings from there. During my time with the phone, I did not face any UI lag or stutter. The phone was zippy and fast.
Not an avid gamer, I tried a few graphics-intensive games on the Galaxy A70 and the phone was able to handle very well. PUBG Mobile has a similar issue with Samsung devices as I have noticed that the overall experience of PUBG was flat when compared to other handsets when using the same hardware. Asphalt 9, on the other hand, played very well on the handset and showed no signs of lag or stuttering during the entire duration of the gameplay. I also tried Call of Duty on the handset and the gameplay experience was similar to PUBG Mobile, even though the phone missed out on high graphics settings. If you are an avid player, it would be appropriate that you set the graphics settings slightly lower to enjoy smooth gameplay.
The Samsung Galaxy A70s is a large phone that can be packed in a 4,500mAh battery. The battery also supports fast charging using the supplied 15W fast charger. One thing you should know about the charger and the supplied USB cable is that it is a USB-C cable with USB-C connectors on both ends. This also means that you will need an adapter or a separate cable to connect the phone to your PC for wired data transfer.
For battery life, the Galaxy A70s drove me smoothly with moderate usage in one day. My typical usage includes about an hour of gaming, often social media apps, lots of YouTube videos, and an average of 5 calls a day. With this usage pattern, the phone will easily run well in a day if the brightness is just over 60%.
The phone took more than 1 hour 45 minutes for a full charge using the supplied charger.

Samsung Galaxy A70s Camera
Now talk about the camera setup. In this department, this phone is very different from the Galaxy A70. The Samsung Galaxy A70S is equipped with three rear cameras. The primary camera is 64 megapixels. Its aperture is F / 1.8. With this, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a third 5-megapixel sensor will be given. The phone has a 32-megapixel selfie camera with F / 2.0 aperture A70 gives the user the option to shoot images at full resolution. The strange thing is, the option to change the resolution to 64MP is located in the aspect ratio settings on the default Photos app screen. The camera UI is what you've seen on low-priced handsets - including the A50 and M30. Users have plenty of modes to choose from, standard photo mode to pro mode. The phone can capture 4K video at 30fps in the highest settings. There is no support for 60fps video, though - even in 1080p. You can also use an ultra-wide-angle camera for video recording but this lens does not support 4K video. The images captured during the day look excellent with great dynamic range and details.Verdict
The Samsung A70s is a marginal upgrade over the current Samsung A70. In fact, during its use, I wondered if this mid-life update was even worth the effort. The only change, as I mentioned earlier, is the camera sensor. The Galaxy A70's story is quite different from Samsung's popular budget smartphone Galaxy M30, which received a significant upgrade in terms of its hardware (more than the M30) and competes with other handsets in terms of specs. Samsung, in contrast, has chosen to use the same Snapdragon 675 SoC in the Samsung A70s, which you also use on Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro - smartphones, which retail less than half of the Samsung Galaxy A70s Retails for value. Even the top-end version of the Redmi Note 7 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage retails for around half the price of the Samsung Galaxy A70s with an MRP of Rs 14,990. Is the Galaxy A70s priced at an additional 14,000 on the Redmi Note 7 something that the buyer must choose before making a decision?
