HMD Global's upcoming Nokia 8.1 will support Google's ARCore

HMD Global has been very active this year and has launched many Nokia smartphones for the people. Now, the Finnish smartphone maker is working towards another smartphone, which is expected to kill shelves next year. The smartphone is Nokia 8.1 which is in work and the device will support Google's ARCor platform.

The upcoming Nokia 8.1 will be the global version of Nokia X7, which was launched by the company last month in China. Prior to this it was estimated that the company could change the name of the device as Nokia 7.1 Plus before launching for the global market. However, according to a tweet, the new name Nokia 8.1 was suggested by Nokia Nu Tipster, HMD's chief product officer Juhoe Sarvicus.

The Nokia 8.1 was first seen on Geekbench that the smartphone will run on an Octo-Core Snapdragon 710 processor. The device was recently seen by NokiaPower user in the updated list of smartphones, which supports the Google Advanced Reality (AR) platform. There is no mention of the specifications and features seen in the device, however, considering the Geekbench list it would be safe to assume that the smartphone will be operated by Snapdragon 710 SOC.

According to Geekbench listings, the upcoming Nokia 8.1 Android will ship with 9 pie out of the box. The listing further shows that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor, which will be connected with 4 GB RAM. This suggests that mid-range offers will be offered by the smartphone Finnish smartphone manufacturer. It is also expected that the company will also present a 6 GB version of the Nokia 8.1. It is left to see what all new features of the device will offer.

On the other hand, the Nokia X7, which was launched last month, packs a long 6.18 inch FHD + display with an aspect ratio of 18: 7: 9. Powering the smartphone is the same Snapdragon 710 SOC, which Nokia 8.1 also expects T. The device is available in 4 GB RAM / 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM / 64GB storage, 6 GB RAM / 128GB inbuilt storage option. Internal storage is expandable up to 400 GB via microSD card.
